Citation Cj2
The Cessna Citation CJ2, first delivered in 2000, is a step up from the CJ1. The CJ2 builds on the improvements that have made the CJ1 the choice of comfortable yet affordable transportation for frequent fliers.
Bigger, faster, and better are the three words that best compare the CJ2 to its earlier relative. The cabin is thirty-three inches longer, providing even more room for the comfort of its passengers. The wingspan of the CJ2 is an additional thirty-five inches to ensure that the plane handles even more smoothly than does the CJ1.
The Cessna Citation CJ2 is exceedingly fuel-efficient. Its two Williams/Rolls-Royce engines use a mere 140 gallons of fuel per hour. This plane is also efficient to operate. The advanced avionics enable one pilot to comfortably operate the plane, making it the first choice of business travelers who want to fly themselves to and from meetings.
The spacious 243-cubic-foot cabin allows passengers to relax and enjoy the ride. However, the CJ2 is also a working-person’s plane. It can carry a total of 1,100 pounds of weight. Business travelers can pack everything needed for a successful meeting, with plenty of room to spare for luggage. Of course, the Cessna Citation CJ2 is equally happy to play. It can carry snowsuits and ski equipment for winter vacations, or swim suits and snorkeling equipment for summer getaways.
The CJ2 is designed to take off on runways as short as 3,420 feet. In a mere seventeen minutes, it reaches a cruising altitude of 37,000 feet, and can climb as high as 45,000 feet. At a cruising speed of 407 knots, and a range of 1,7000 miles, the CJ2 is proof that one does not have to sacrifice efficiency or speed in order to appreciate luxury.
